1Who these guidelines apply to
Everyone who uses meetDo — in the app, in messages, and at the meet-ups themselves. Creating an account means accepting them.
They complement the terms of use without replacing them. Where the two conflict, the terms of use prevail.
2Respect comes first
Everyone is here for the same reason: to do something together. Levels, paces, ages, backgrounds, bodies and languages differ — that is the point, not the problem.
- Say you are coming, and say so when you are not.
- Be on time, or send word.
- Someone new or slower belongs here as much as you do.
- No means no — for an invitation as for anything else.
3What doesn't belong here
- Harassment, insults, threats, intimidation.
- Hate and discrimination based on origin, skin colour, religion, gender, sexual orientation, disability or age.
- Sexual content, flirting and romantic advances: meetDo is not a dating app.
- Advertising, resale, cold outreach and chain messages.
- Violent or illegal content, and anything that puts a minor at risk.
No rating of people
On meetDo nobody is scored, ranked or compared. Trying to introduce a leaderboard or a rating of individuals — in a title, a message or a description — works against the idea of the product itself.
4Meet-ups happen offline
meetDo verifies nobody and attends no meet-up. Responsibility for a meet-up rests with the people who go to it.
The first time
Meet in a public place. Tell someone you trust where you are and when you will be back — the app gives you a link for that. And leave whenever you want: nothing obliges you to stay.
Do not share your address, phone number or payment details in the app. What you arrange elsewhere, you arrange at your own risk.
5An honest profile
- Use your own first name or a stable nickname, and a photo that shows you.
- One account per person.
- Minimum age: 16.
- Do not pass yourself off as someone else — not even as a joke.
6Other people's privacy
What you learn at a meet-up is not yours. A photo in which someone is recognisable is published only with their agreement; a screenshot of a conversation is not shared at all.
Contact details someone gave you in person stay between the two of you.
7Reporting and blocking
If someone makes you uncomfortable, you have neither to put up with it nor to justify yourself.
- Blocking takes effect immediately and both ways: you no longer see each other, and your conversations are hidden.
- The blocked person is not notified.
- Blocks live in your settings, and you can lift them whenever you want.
- Reporting is not blocking: it tells us, so that we can step in.
8When the guidelines are broken
Depending on severity: a reminder, the removal of a piece of content, a temporary suspension, or account deletion. Where a person is at risk, suspension is immediate and without notice.
A decision can be challenged at the address below; we normally reply within 14 days.
